It will indeed be a Merry Christmas for our house. After the week from hell, last week, we couldn't take it anymore. I think it was the 1.5 hours of Sassy's screaming that broke the camel's back. She was basically starving herself so the food wouldn't get stuck in her mouth. But I took her in yesterday and had them remove her appliance. After the holidays we will go to plan B and she will get brackets and a retainer and possibly a few teeth removed. But she will be able to eat!! Hallelujah!! And I think she has eaten more in the past 24 hours than she has over the past week. And I'm not even exaggerating. You should've seen me at the office talking to the techs. I started crying. I was so emotionally drained that I was falling apart. It was not my finest moment.
I can't believe we went through that. I am so happy to be done with it. The 180 in her attitude is so worth it also. I actually like my daughter again.

So glad things are better! One of my daughters has four brackets and has to wear headgear every night, and we've had our share of issues for which I've had to advocate as well. Obviously, some orthodontia is necessary for some kids, but there's a balance; our kids don't need to be miserable for straight teeth. Have a great Christmas!
